Archiving again
I know archiving has been talked about a lot on this forum – I have read many of the postings. It sounds like there is no dominant solution to long term archiving of footage. The problem I face is if we go the P2 route we will have cameras in up to 8 offices across 2 states. Can anyone give me an idea of the cost of DLT VS hard drives or any other cost effective solution.

There’s never going to be a definitive archiving solution either. The issue of archiving has been around since the dawn of computing. My suggestion would be to define your needs- budget, network access, storage format, ease of reuse, volume, etc. That would help guide you toward one of the solutions like HD or DLT which have been around much longer than P2.
