Search for “collect files” in the Help and go from there.

Files->Collect Files is what you want. But before you get there, you may want to first clean up your project.

For that there are Files>Remove Unused Footage. Then there is Files->Consolidate All Footage. This one removes redundant footage items and relinks those items that have been removed.

The use Files->Reduce Project. For this, select comps that you want to retain before selecting this option.

Your final procedure is to select Files->Collect Files. All the routines are undoable.

Someone should wrte a script to run through the process with a SaveAs (for backup purposes) as the first routine.
