Hi Guys, I am looking at purchasing a new cam very shortly. I had almost commited to the Z1 however I just attended the Panasonic Roadshow here in NZ for the new P2 and am trying to work out a couple of make or break issues. Which I will post under seperate threads.
Long term storage. If I shoot to P2 or firestore in DVCPRO or DVCPRO HD is it possible to output the footage to a current DVCPRO Deck or will it require a specific HD deck? This may be an ignorant question but I know very little about DVCPRO and with the Z1 outputting HDV to mini DV tape I wondered whether it would be poss to do similar from the HVR200.
From what I can gather the only other options I have available currently will be tape backup systems or Hard Disk. I don’t want to look at DVD, my experience with it as a back up media is not good.
