I am working with a lot of P2 and EX3 files. Its time to archive some thing and i want your opinion.
Should i archive just the QT files made on import or should I archive the original P2 files as well.
    What do you do.

Archive the original P2 card dumps, not the QT files. The P2 offloads are your master tapes. Archive the master tapes.

When you unarchive, do you just reimport the footage from the master P2 files and they link up. That would be great.

Watch the tutorial I made for P2 Import…

    P2 Workflow with FCP 6

If you want to reimport the footage, simply reconnect the archive drive, highlight the clips and choose BATCH CAPTURE. It will reimport the footage, and heed all the clip renaming and IN/OUT points you might have set.

    Mighty slick.
