November 21, 2007 at 4:43 amWhatever happened to Microcosm? It made a big splash a few years ago, but I don’t see it anymore. It was specifically made for archiving as I recall.

Microcosm is the only option to keep in a .mov all that you get when rendering in 16b. I have it but the truth is that I only use it when I need to send thing from AE to Shake or so (RGB,16bx444{4}).
As I wrote, Microcosm have a NONE 64b for free (Digital Anarchy web site). Being 64b its plays in QT as smooth as you would be playing DV. Amazing.
