Loaded mpeg2 files which have been rendered in Sony Vegas 8.0 to Sony Sony Architect 4.5a
    1. I want to put some Word and PDF files in Extras onto the DVD for those who have computers so they can print off. How do I do this?
    2. How do I put them into Sony Vegas so they can read them on the television
    Thank you
    Pat

Add data files to your DVD:

    In DVD Architect:

    FILE
    PROPERTIES
    tab DISC PROPERTIES
    EXTRAS FOLDER
Browse to the folder with the data files
    OK
    OK

    Create your SD-DVD as usual

Add WORD files to Vegas: In WORD: Ctrl A to select all, Ctrl C to copy all and then in Vegas TEXT generated media: Ctrl V to paste all

    1. Go into the Properties option in Architect and you’ll find an “Extras folder” option under “DVD only features”.
This allows you to browse to wherever the Extras folder is that you’ve created and dropped your Word and PDF files into.
When you Prepare/Burn the DVD, in addition to the AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders, it will now have an Extras folder that is only available if you’re viewing it on a PC.

    2. You’d need to convert them into something that Vegas can display.
In other words, an image format of some kind such as PNG.
Unless you plan to only show portions of it on-screen at any one time, I don’t recommend doing this as Word/PDF files can and quite often do use fonts (too small) and colours (not video friendly) that are not very good for reading and/or displaying on a TV set, no matter how good it is.

    Hi
Thank you for both of your very prompt replies. I have found where you said
1.Can you add more than one folder or is the best way to put all your folders into the “extras” folder
    2. Should anything show up in preview?
    3. The files are music scores which I thought might be helpful for any who did not have a computer.
    Best wishes

    1. Pat, you can add as many folders as you want as long as they’re inside of the master “Extras” folder.
I did one a few years ago where I had PDFs, images, PowerPoint files and Word document folders all inside the Extras folder.
*** Remember to take the size of this folder into account when you calculating the size of the DVD.

    2. No

    3. Full page music scores can be very hard to read (especially if they’ve been scanned) on a computer display so this is definitely the best way of doing it.
