When adjusting the recompression settings in the optomize disk dialog, I choose the 16:9 video format. The book says that I should get the widescreen format on a wide screen TV, which I do. It also says that the picture should be letter boxed on a 4:3 TV. There is no letter boxing and the picture is vertically stretched. My project properties are set correctly. Any ideas? Thanks!

If it appears correctly on a widescreen television, then I would suspect that the 16:9 flag was set correctly.

Do other widescreen DVDs played on your 4:3 television get letterboxed or stretched? If they also get stretched, then check through your DVD player’s setup menus — either for a setting that tells it what kind of TV it’s hooked up to or one that tells it what to do with widescreen content.
