I have just come across a set of Aputure Light Storm Mini 20 lights which all work fine except for the barn doors which do not hold in place or have fallen off. My research on the Aputure site seems to say that they are not replaceable as the attachment is not removable.

Has anyone else with a set of LS Mini20’s had issue with the barn doors and if so been able to find a fix for it? Or a way of replacing them with something else.

Happy to answer any questions and open to all suggestions.

    Appreciate your help.

    Cheers.

    Hello there,

I understand the issue you’re facing.

It’s possible that the barn doors on your Aputure Light Storm Mini 20 lights are not holding in place due to a loose or damaged attachment mechanism. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, Aputure does not offer replacement parts for the barn doors on the Mini 20 lights.

But there are some potential solutions you can try out

Tighten the screws: Check the screws that hold the barn doors in place to make sure they are tight. If they’re loose, tighten them with a screwdriver to see if that helps the barn doors hold in place.

Use a different attachment mechanism: You could try using a third-party attachment mechanism, such as a small clamp or clip, to hold the barn doors in place.

You could attach the clip to the barn doors and then clamp it onto the frame of the light.

Use gaffer tape: Another option is to use gaffer tape to hold the barn doors in place.

This is not a permanent solution though, but it could be a fast fix for a temporary situation.

Try Contacting Aputure: In case none of these solutions is working for you, maybe you should contact Aputure customer support to see if they have any additional suggestions or solutions for you

    THANKS
