applying speed effects causes clip to freeze frame
working on FCP 5.1.4 on PowerPC Mac Pros and XSAN. Every once in a while we come across a clip that, when you slow it down to any speed between 0-99%, it jumps to a still frame of a image earlier or later in the clip that you are trying to edit. The entire clip in the Timeline becomes that still frame.
This has happened both with DVCPROHD 720p59.94 clips in a 23.98 timeline and with Uncompressed 8-bit clips 29.97 in a 23.98 timeline. Have tried various workarounds in different timelines. The only thing that works is reexporting the clip as a self-contained QT in a sequence with matching frame rate, but this is tedious for the amount of footage we are trying to slow down. Any help would be great. Thanks.

We get pinwheels and v slow rendering and then weird still frames.Patrick
