  • Applying masks/layers to multiple clips.

Hey, guys. Sorry if this was answered elsewhere in the forums, but I can’t seem to find it if it was.

I created a mask for a gun scope. I’d like to be able to apply it to different clips, but every time I copy and paste the necessary layers the red dot in the center shows up but the mask isn’t showing up.

Is this even possible? Can I make a template for it somehow?

Sorry, but I’m new to Motion.

    Anybody got any ideas?

    Thanks.

is it to footage or images?

I had to do the same to an image on motion (a logo) and had to colour the background green and then use the blue green screen on there to ‘mask’ it out.

footage wise, i’m not too sure as I’m fairly new to it myself

Yeah, it’s footage. I really just want all the scopes to be uniform without having to type or copy/paste mask coordinates into ever single file. There are a LOT of shots that are going to require the mask.

I am unsure myself I’m afraid. I’m a bit of a newbie myself when it comes to Motion. I believe it would work in After Effects easily but that means redoing the first clip
