September 3, 2013 at 2:08 amIf Sony was Promoting/Advertising Vegas with its tons of
features, resources and flexibility John, it would be exactly
where Adobe Premiere is… And im not speculating here,
i know this as a fact!Steve Rhoden

September 3, 2013 at 2:31 am[John Rofrano] “OMG! And to think that this has been there since Vegas Pro 10.0 and none of us knew about it?”
It seems Vegas has a very generalized data flow architecture. An advantage. Things like this tend to allow “features” not originally envisioned by someone fiddling with the data flow. Moving composite in the chain this case.
The advantage is that people can figure out things you might not think you can do.
The disadvantage, is it is not documented until they are aware and document as a feature.
I’ll bet a premiere adjustment layer have their limits, just like adjustment layers have limits in Photoshop. Things like this tend to happen when you implement a “feature”.

September 3, 2013 at 3:04 pmApparently, it’s been around since well before Vegas 10.

This is the first time I’m learning about it as well.
I think at this point we know how to promote Vegas better than Sony does.

September 3, 2013 at 3:28 pmI’ll bet Vegas has allowed you to position the composite process in the effect chain for track video effects since they first allowed track level video effects.
They do document the ability to do this in the help file but it is kinda mentioned in passing. It does not have a “How Do I…” section that is task oriented where the topic title is, how do I apply a video effect to everything below a certain level/track.

September 3, 2013 at 8:05 pmOk, why can’t I get this feature fully working? I drag a plugin (Color Curves) to the top track, I see it listed the way that video shows with a small space for keyframes, I adjust the lines, yet I see no changes.

September 3, 2013 at 8:43 pmRemember you have to move the Composite tab to the front!
