Applying effects to Text but it goes to video

[Greg Burke] “Hey All im applying what is basically a blur cross on text so it comes in using blur cross, but for some reason it goes on the Video Track even though the effect is only on the TEXT. ANy Ideas?”

Some titles also act as adjustment layers… it’s a little weird. I think you can get around it by putting the title in a compound clip and applying the effect to that.

If you have Motion, open a copy of the transition in Motion and uncheck the “Transition A” layer for a transition in or uncheck “Transition B” layer for a transition out. Save under a new name. I use a Custom Transitions folder for something like this but whatever works for you.
