Applying BorisFX as a filter
Posted by Matt Short on June 29, 2006 at 8:44 amWhen I apply FX to a clip in Final Cut and launch the Boris interface, there is nothing in the timeline. Shouldn’t the clip I applied it to appear? I looked in preferences and the open empty timeline box was unchecked.

June 29, 2006 at 9:10 amIf you are talking about RED, you need to upgrade to version 3.0.5. Go to borisfx.com for the updater.

June 29, 2006 at 2:23 pmThis is just plain old BorisFX (version 8). I did post this in the Boris forum last week and got no response. Not as much activity over there as in here.

June 29, 2006 at 3:51 pmIt seems that you need Red to see the video inside the Boris Keyframer. In FX you might try finding the clip’s media file in your scratch folder and import it temporarily as you build your effect in Boris FX. Don’t forget to hide the track when you apply to FCP.
