Applying an effect to selected frames of a clip
Hi! This is probably a simple question – but its really frustrating for me.
I am applying a TV snow / Bad TV effect to a part of a clip. Essentially a couple of seconds of the footage need this effect. However, when I apply a comp and an effect – fractal noise or venetian blinds then the effect is applied to the entire footage.I tried using the in and out markers – but perhaps I’m doing something really silly.
Please let me know.

If there is no other layer below the video layer, apply the effects to an Adjustmment Layer (Layer>New>Adjustment layer), then trim the adjustment layer to the desired times with Alt [ and Alt ].
Alternatively you can Duplicate the layer(Ctrl D) then apply the effects to it and trim the effected layer accordingly. PS, turn off the dup’s sound.
Or split the layer (same as just above really) where you want to effect or not effect.
