    heya,

I have a simple green screen video, which I want an image to appear on the green screen.
    Layer A – video
    Layer B – Image

I’ve been trying to apply the Color Difference Key only on the part of the video where the green screen is (the video doesn’t change angles).
Adjustment Layer seemed to do the job, I see that the screen is tranparent, but I _don’t_ see the image below it !

    Thanks :]

apply the effect directly to the layer that you want to key, rather than on an adjustment layer.

usually, you’ll use an adjustment layer when you want to add an effect to multiple layers (all layers below the adjustment layer). in this case you only want to key one layer…

    heya,

thanks for the answer, but I actually wanted to apply the effect only to a part of the layer (only the green screen, the problem is that it keys out also other green pixels in the frame. The camera doesn’t move, so it should be possible ..).

since the adjustment layer work on all layers below it, you’ll want to prevent it from working on the background layer.

move your adjustment layer and the layer you want to key to a pre-comp (select both layer, the choose layer>pre-compose, choose to ‘move all attributes’).

this will separate your keying effect from your background footage, which is what i think is causing your problem.

    Hi Kevin
Sorry for not understanding me, assuming I have only 1 layer, all I want to do is to apply an effect to a certain place in the layer, which I can select using a rectangle.

    Thanks 🙂
