  • Applying a matte to a motion track

I need to matte out a logo on a hat, which would be easy if the hat weren’t on someones head and they weren’t moving. I have experimented with motion track, which works, but I need to figure out how to apply a blur or key the logo out and have it follow the motion track. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Well, to track blur it you could do this,

create a white layer and add a maks the approximate shape of the logo and then create a new adjustment layer and place it underneath the masked white layer.

Then set the track matte to alpha track matte so that the adjustment layer takes the alpha from the masked layer,

Now add a blur or even a fill to the adjustment layer and feather the white layer mask if needed.

Then apply the tracking data to the white layer and even keyframe the mask to make head turns and such,

Depending on how long the frame is you could always use the clone tool, or even vector paint.

    Good Luck,
    Andrew
