How does one apply changes to more than one clip, i.e. i want all my audio clips to be at 6db? It seems to be easy in premiere pro with copy and past but can’t get the shortcut for this? Help

Highlight the clip that’s already at 6 dB and hit Cmd-V to copy it. Highlight all the clips you want to change to 6 dB and hit Opt-V and in the box that pops up, click on “Levels” and click OK.

Adjust one clip to 6db, copy that clip using the standard copy function, then highlight (select) every clip you want to modify, right click and select copy attributes, check the volume (levels) box under audio attributes, and click ‘Okay.”

BTW, if you look around in the paste attributes window and extrapolate just a bit, you’ll see that many things can be accomplished in FCP using the technique Chris and I just taught you.

Also, if you look into the Edit>>Find function, you will see that you can find and select specific clips by name, or use the find all function to find and select all the clips with that name, and you can then copy attributes to all of them at once. That’s a very powerful tool inside FCP.

    along with the copy/paste methodology,
there is actually an EASIER way to do this in FCP.

before making an adjustment on one clip
    select ALL the clips,
then use keyboard shortcuts to adjust the volume on all at once.

    shortcuts:
Control – & Control = lower or raise by 1db

    Control [ & Control ] = lower or raise by 3db

    Control , Control. Control/ = pan = -1, 0 and +1
