    Hi there.

I’ve tried searching everywhere, but I can’t find an answer for this within FCP.

I’m trying to blend some burn stock with a text layer using the ‘darken’ blend mode, but I want the bottom layer to be unaffected by the blend. Is this possible?

I know there are other, lengthier ways around this, but I would just like to know if you are able to select which specific layers can be blended, and whether you can exclude layers.

    Many thanks.

I think the blend by nature affects all layers below it. What you might try is luma keying or revering the key.
