apply a filter to an entire track?
Posted by Kit Carson on May 31, 2011 at 5:11 pmI want to be able to have a track that any clip I drag into it has these multiple garbage filters applied to it. Is this possible?
Thanks

May 31, 2011 at 6:06 pmI don’t think you can assign filters to tracks, only to clips. But it’s easy enough to copy/paste or drag multiple filters from one clip onto as many others as you like. Only takes seconds.

May 31, 2011 at 6:14 pmYou can try a nest as well. They can be a pain to use, but in some cases they’re just the thing to get you out of a bind as far as multiple filters on a track go. Give it a shot and see if it’ll work for your situation.

Quad Core Intel Xeon, 10GB ram

May 31, 2011 at 11:17 pmCreate a new bin. Drag the filters from one finished clip into the bin. Rename the filters and add 1,2,3 etc to the start of each name to represent the order the filters go in. Then any time you have a clip on the track you need to apply those filters to, then highlight the clip or many clips on that track and drag the bin folder to the clip(s) and voila, all applied in the right order to all clips.
I avoid nests at all costs. They are a total pain when it comes to online & grade and in this case are unnecessary.
