AppleCare for Multiple Monitors on a FCP system
Hello all,
We recently purchased a FCP system from Promax with 3 23-inch Cinema Displays. 2 for the Desktop, 1 to monitor out of an HDLink. I was getting ready to register the applecare for the system and come to find out that you can only register 1 monitor with the system. Talked with Apple and they said they only cover 1 monitor with a G5 for the extended 3 year period. : ( A rep said that some places buy a powerbook with their G5 order just to have the second monitor covered!
I know that the monitors are covered for 1 year from Apple for free, but I was suprised to hear Apple doesn’t have an extended warranty for just the monitors or cover all the monitor in a FCP system.
I would imagine that most FCP systems out there use multi cinema displays, and was wondering if anyone could shed some insight on how you cover all of your monitors.

This is a problem I came across with another client. I queried Apple and they said this was a hole in their AppleCare offerings that they hadn’t squared away yet.
It seems like Apple is missing out on a revenue stream here… AppleCare for Cinema Displays.
