Apple Update at NAB, Renaissance Hotel
Posted by Peter Simpson on April 11, 2010 at 11:22 pmHas anyone else seen this? Stumbled across it while looking for NAB info.

https://calendar.lasvegascitylife.com/las-vegas-nv/events/show/110016925-apple-nab-2010-updateApple is holding an update session at the Renaissance Hotel in Vegas on their latest hardware and software products? Don’t know if this is legitimate but thought it interesting enough to post anyway.
Is it an official Apple event?Andreas Kiel replied 16 years, 1 month ago 7 Members · 9 Replies -

April 11, 2010 at 11:44 pmIt certainly seems official. However, I suppose it’s possible it’s just coinciding with new hardware releases, rumoured for this week. I’d love to think it’s fcs with kuda support however…

April 12, 2010 at 7:55 amYup – one looking for a bit of publicity based on the wording. The event has been removed from the listings,
If Appke had anything planned, it would issue proper invitations.

April 12, 2010 at 10:48 amShame, it would have been nice to have had some news, with Adobe launching CS5 and Avid launching Media Composer 5 I’m feeling a bit left out!

April 12, 2010 at 10:50 amJust noticed that Avid MC5 will send you an e-mail when a render is finished!!! That’s a feature request for FCP

April 12, 2010 at 12:04 pmSadly I jumped ship from Avid to FCP a couple years ago due to Apple being a more progressive company in terms of their NLE. Now it seems I may have jumped too early. MC5 includes support for Matrox MXO Mini (ie 3rd party hardware) which seems like a major shift amongst many other features, CS5 has many new features also including the mercury playback engine, XML, AAF support. Apple laptops lagging in terms of hardware uptake (although that may change in the next few days). I don’t know. Feel a little left out too 🙂

April 12, 2010 at 12:21 pmSome people have the feeling that this boat is sinking, just because AFTER TEN YEARS looks like PP may start to behave as a pro application.
Being with FC since FC 2.5, very bad have to do things Apple for me to consider to go to PP.
And even proving that going to PP is worth, I wont ever buy any Adobe application unless Adobe changes its discriminatory prices policy.
Cheers,

April 12, 2010 at 1:46 pmIt is weird that Compressor has the capability to send you an email but FCP still does not.

April 12, 2010 at 2:08 pmI posted how to do with FCP and Avid some years ago – but maybe you guys hadn’t been ready for this that time:)
