Hi all, I have been trying to create a video file of one of my projects so it will run on my Apple TV but I have one small problem,
The file i genarate which should be 16:9 is crunched up in 4:3 view in either Quicktime or on my Apple TV.

I do not understand why this is happening as I use all the correct settings in the Adobe Media Encoder.

The project settings in Premiere are
    Pal 720 x 576 16:9
    Pixel Aspect ratio = D1/DV Pal Widescreen 16:6 (1.422)
    25 Fps

    Encoder export settings

    Format H.264
    Preset Apple Ipod Vieo Large
    Video Codec Mainconcept H.264 Video
    TV Standard Pal
    720
    576
    25 Fps
    Aspect Ratio Widescreen 16:9

Can some one pleas give me advise on how to over come this problem.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

I could be wrong, for 720p use ‘Square Pixels (1.0), in HD we use Anamorphic 1080(1.333)

Thanks Bob, that started me thinking and so I first deinterlased the video on the time line then exported it as a quicktime H.264 720P file and it works beatifully on the Apple TV.

I suppose what I should do next is capture the original High Def video and edit as HD then deinterlace and output as 720P to see what that looks like.

    Again thanks.

That’s good, you could use a Cineform /avi setting and get the same results.

    Good luck……………..
