Apple Switching Back To NVDIA?
Granted, it’s just a rumor and it doesn’t address their desktop products.
But it could be interesting if in fact Apple decides to bring back NVIDIA. Specifically if they don’t drop the Mac Pro.
If it is true, I wonder what would prompt Apple to bring NVDIA back into their products?

Some things might (and certainly will) change.

This would be a big deal. OpenCL hasn’t won (yet?), so getting CUDA back on Macs would be nice.

Perhaps it has been my posts about swapping back to Win7 to use CUDA with Adobe that has prompted this.
Seriously, why not embrace a powerful graphics card that daVinci, Adobe and AVID work best with. After all Mac hardware needs to be accessible to software other than FCPX.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely Walter. So although I will use my powers for good, that will only last a short time before degenerating into secretive self serving greed- just like Microsoft, Google and now Apple actually.

I have the 2011 MacBook Pro, but if next year’s model has NVIDIA and especially the (rumored) USB 3.0 connections, I might have to upgrade.
Not that I’m partial to USB 3.0, just that I do a lot of footage dumping and if someone brings me a USB 3.0 drive I don’t want to be hampered in getting footage on it.
