Apple Store Re-loading – G5’s imminent?
Hey all, it’s 8:30am on the east coast and the Apple Store is down for the moment and re-load within the hour. I guess we’ll find out all the specs on the new machines shortly.

If apple always did what I thought, we’d be into a G 1 million now. That computer takes less than a second to encode a whole HD movie.

2 things I noticed. The two top models have three PCI-X slots instead of one. The machines are available immediately with ship dates of 1-2 days.

my real question is….. are these really overclocked 2’s and 2.5’s…. i mean why come out with a 2.7 and a 2.3 and loose the 2.5 all together. Back to my consipiricy theorist lifestyle….trust noone

I’m not looking at the “possible” negatives here. What I see is more bang for your buck. These new 2.7’s are prices the same as the old 2.5’s. But, you get a much better video card, more storage, and twice the drive speed…seems like Apple is giving us a present. I’m spec’ing out two FCP workstations, and this made things alot easier. Sure, I want a 3 GHZ as much as the next guy, but I’m not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Did anyone else notice that the 20″ and 23″ Apple LCDs got a little cheaper today?
$200 and $300 less, respectively.
That’s a nice little surprise.

I thought the top two models had always had 3 PCI-X? One was 133 and the others were 100.
