Anyone having download issues with FCPX 10.0.1 update? In the Apple store the download button is showing I have FCPX already installed. True, but not 10.0.1. If I trash FCPX to hide it from the Apple store download button, it then says $299.00 for me to buy it, but I’ve done that already. Any ideas?

What quite a few people, including me, had to do was to hide FCPX (or delete it) ) and then go to the “Purchased” tab on your App store and install from there.
If you just go to the App store, rather than the purchased tab, it is confused and asks you to re-buy.
Prior to that it would say that it was installed but not purchased from the App Store

I think there are a few posts about it but that’s basically the answer.

Thanks for the info. Did some searching and saw where old FCPX projects won’t open under the new 10.0.1 udpate. Is this true? Didn’t see any solutions. So, I guess I’m worried making the install if it works.

When you launch, 10.0.1 warns you it will need to update projects and asks for consent to do so. Same as it was with updates to legacy FCP. After consenting to the update for your projects, they are all accessible.

Yeah there’s definitely no sense running 10.0.0 and 10.0.1 on the same system. Once you update your projects to .1 they will not be readable by 0. That said, the update is full of improvements and fixes so there’s really not much point in staying with the older version.
