    Apple QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component ???

    Hey all

    I am just trying to convert an mpg2 file to dv with Mpeg streamclip on my home machine.

    I get the following error “The Apple QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component is not installed”

    should this not be included in the FCP 2.0 suite? I’m running compressor and dvdsp. I’ve never had this come up before on any of our work machines.

    any ideas for troubleshooting?

    Hi Paul,
    With Compressor or DVDSTP installed you should have the component working.
    Repair Permissions and try re-installing the last DVDSTP.
