Apple ProRes 422 won’t import into Premiere Pro CS6
I am on Windows 8 with Premiere Pro CS6 installed.
I have a .mov file that won’t import into Premiere Pro CS6. Upon import it says “Unsupported format or damaged file.” The file plays fine in VLC-player, but not in QuickTime and I can’t open it with MPEG Steamclip either.
The info from VLC-player:

Yeah, it says that I already have a later version of the Decoder installed. I was just told the footage was shot on:
AG-HMC 151 Panasonic

Well that camera does not shoot in Prores so it has been probably transcoded at some point.

I suspected the same. They probably used Log & Transfer to transcode the footage on import, since I found all of the footage in the Capture Scratch folder in the project.
The project was originally cut on Final Cut Pro on Mac and the editor backed out and I was handed over a half finished documentary. It was a god awful mess to begin with. I managed to clean up the project and export an XML, but I’ve had a lot of problems getting it into Premiere Pro CS6 on my PC.
I tried doing the same on a Mac and the project imported without the same issues. I don’t really know where to go from here since I can’t edit the documentary on the Mac. I just tried it out on a friends Mac.
Am I missing some sort of codec?

The Log and Transfer might do something different to the file. I’ve had some files from FCP that just don’t work on Windows.
