Apple ProRes 422 LT conversion to 4444
I have been editing a movie and all of my output has been Apple ProRes 422 LT. We are sending it out to be color corrected and they have informed us that they use 4444 for all of their output. Will the up-conversion to 4444 mean that I will need more hard drive space because the file will be larger? I have been looking for conversion ratios and can’t seem to find them anywhere. I’m just trying to be proactive because we are at almost 3TB with our files.

1 GB of Prores LT is 1 minute and 47 seconds according to KataData. 1 GB of 4444 is 32 seconds using the same app. So expect to have at least files 75 % bigger when converting.

Have tried to type on Google “Prores data rate”?Prores444 files will be almost 4 folds bigger than Prores LT.

If you do the convertion the other way. 1 minute in LT is 0.56 GB and 1 minute on 4444 is 1.86 GB using Katadata.
