With Final Cut Studio HD I got Final Cut Studio DVD Tutorial which was quite useful for introduction with softwares. At the and of tutorial, I tried to find more about it, but it turns out that Apple Pro training series are only books. Is there a version on DVD’s perhaps? I don’t mind books of course, but I believe that it’s much much easier to learn from DVD’s. Is there something for Final Cut, Motion… similar to what Total Training made for Adobe?

    Tnx

[meeroo] “I tried to find more about it, but it turns out that Apple Pro training series are only books.”

As I replied to your same query in the Motion forum, there are Apple Pro Classes that go with the books available in major cities throughout the U.S.

There are Apple Training centers around the world. Here’s a link from the Apple Support site.

Depending on the level of the advanced training you require there are a few sources that I can recommend.

Rippletraining.com – Steve Martin is a teacher of teachers for Apple Pro Training certifcations. His material is top class and very well worth the price.

MacProVideo.com – Martin Sitter and others, very good and quality, thorough content for all Apple apps and some others too.

Magnetmedia.com – DMTS – Very introspective type of training. More definition of formats and codecs and more technical information that the others.

Most have demo’s of a chapter or such to look at.

    Best Luck

I have found the Hands-on-Training site from http://www.lynda.com to be most useful. Larry Jordan’s “Final Cut Pro 5” is published by lynda.com, and is my primary desk reference book. It comes with a DVD of exercise files and training videos. Explanations are written in a way that doesn’t bore the advanced editor, but also doesn’t desert, confuse, or insult the beginner. I have also found Larry to be a helpful and prompt source of email support when I hit a wall and am against a deadline… and his fee is very reasonable. I have also attended one of his live seminars, and it was also quite helpful… just not quite long enough!

The resources mentioned above are excellent, but don’t discount the books. The Apple Pro series books are not just about reading, but with the media provided and the lessons, step you through the applications in a very thorough and hands on way.

I just recommended your DVD to a friend that inquired today about ways to learn.

There’s one mistake in the bio on that training DVD web page.

It says “and an activate presence on a number of oline forums.”

I know that you activate other a lot with your help, but perhaps it should be “active presence”
