I’ve embraced Apple ProRes 444 and have started using it as a codec for everything from AE renders to masters before going to DVD.

Am I doing my DVD encodes a disservice rather than sticking with the animation codec or an uncompressed .mov. I shoot on an EX1 and edit in FCP finish in color and master DVD’s in DVDSP.

I use Rick Young’s method of downressing in FCP except that I use 444 instead of 422.

What do you guys think? Should I stick with an uncompressed file before going to DVDSP.
