We are doing a shoot on a Panasonic AJ-HPX2700.

The camera man suggest handing me the footage in “10 bit Apple Pro Res”.

    Questions:

    1. I edit on an I7 eight core windows 7. I have CS5, will it import these files?

    2. Is AppleProRes always 10 bits?

    3. Or can CS5 import the native files from the AJ-HPX2700?

I have the first version of CS5.

I worked on RedRaw and CS 5 imported it flawlessly so I hope CS 5 can also import these files.

    Anny advice will be appreciated.

Yes, you can read ProRes files on a Windows PC with QuickTime installed.

ProRes 422 is 10-bit. See Apple’s ProRes whitepaper [link] for more.
