  • Apple password not accepted on new second iMac

I now have 2 iMacs. I am setting up the new iMac but the Apple password is not accepted despite being accepted on the first iMac.
    Can anyone explain?
    Many thanks
    Peter

Hi, how long ago was the first iMac set up on this account?
I have had the same problem, and it was because the ‘old’ password didn’t conform to the current format now required, with its mix of lower, upper case and numerical requirements.
I changed the password so that it conformed on the logged-in computer, then was able to get the new one to log in to the account correctly.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Paul
Thanks for your prompt answer. The old iMac is a mid 2011. The last time I changed the password was about 2 years ago. It still works on the old iMac (checked just before) and contains only upper and lower case and numbers.
    Best regards
    Peter

    Hi Paul
The Problem was stupid. I had the new keyboard incorrectly configured.
Option G gave me a copywriter symbol which is similar to the @ and I did not see the mistake.
    Best regards
    Peter
