Apple Motion Fonts Looks Bad in Standard DVD
I am making all fonts for my project in Apple motion. The motion project is hdv 1080i30 preset. Bring them to final cut pro project. All my footages are shot by Canon 60D, then convert them to apple prores 422. Fonts looks good when I am exporting the project as quicktime movie file, however, when I am compressing them as best 90 min dvd onto standard dvd, fonts looks almost not readable. they are so broken, out of focus, looks really bad. What am I doing wrong? anybody?

If you have thin fonts they will not hold up well to mpeg compression.
90 min. data rate is heavy compression.You can try a short piece and increase the data rate greatly and see how that looks.
OR
Change the font.

Fonts and graphics tend not to hold up too well in software downconversions. If you’re delivering SD you could downconvert the final edit to SD (using frame controls in Compressor for best results) then send it to Motion to finish. Export ProRes then create your mpeg2 from Compressor.
That would make sure all of your text looks pristine from a DVD.
