Thanks Oliver. It will be interesting to see where the M1 Resolve software fork goes, given the GPU preference. Meanwhile does this make an eGPU with this Mac mini a serious option for a small portable system?

Hi sir, I read your article, i would like to buy Mac mini with M1 chip, I will be using it to edit my Gh5 footage for editing documentaries and youtube videos, i am confused about storage space, should I buy 256Gb or 512Gb, I use FCPX and resolve for editing, please guide.

    Thanks, happy new year?

Buy as large of a storage option as you can afford. I would suggested also buying external storage for all of your footage. 256GB will be too small for any significant amount of media.

To my knowledge, the M1 Mac mini (or any other M1 Mac) does not support an eGPU. I could be wrong, but my opinion is that Apple is no longer interested in eGPUs and those were just a stopgap until the Mac Pros came out.

No idea. Contact Apple’s tech support. Or if it’s not an Apple keyboard, then the supplier for the keyboard that you are using.

Perhaps the issue is part of the known Bluetooth issues affecting all M1 Macs but the Mac Mini the most it seems. They will be fixed in Big Sur 11.2.
