  • Apple Intermediate Codec 1hr 1080i60 = >40GBs?

I’ve been capturing my 1080i60 footage in FC in HDV Apple Intermediate Codec and the folder sizes have been ~40Gbs for 1hr of footage. I know I’ll eventually delete the unusable ones, so is the business of underwater video, but does this enormous size seem right?

That sounds about right to me. Your file sizes would be a lot smaller if you digitised as HDV… https://support.apple.com/kb/HT2704

    Thanks for the response.
I remeber using my friend’s FC Pro and his HDV-1080i captures for a 1hr tape were about 14-15gb’s. That’s why I was amazed to see the 40gb files.

    Thanks again!
