The 4:3 came out of FC when I changed the settings as you instructed. I didn’t change anything else. I haven’t put anything in compressor yet. This is what exported:

Format:Apple ProRes 422, 1440 x 1080, Millions
16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo, 48.000 kHz

FPS: 29.97

Data Size: 81.6 GB

Data Rate: 124.77 Mbit/s

Current size:1172 x 878 pixels

Donna,

HDV is not a “full raster” format, meaning it is squeezed on tape and in file format, then unsqueezed upon playback. The file you made should be interpreted properly in Compressor or in FCP.

There one thing you left out however, that Sequence>>Settings should have revealed. Please go back and find out what FCP says is the Pixel Aspect Ratio. That should not be set to “Square,” but should in fact be HD(1440×1080). If that’s wrong that might be affecting things, but if it’s right, then just bring the exported file into Compressor and make whatever files you require.

I does say the pixel aspect ratio is HD 1440×1080, field dominance is upper. I’ll put it in compressor now and see what happens. Sorry for my panic.
