2Gig Ram
x800 XT

The old versions of FT can run on an older G5, though I’m not sure about your graphics card. Color is a graphics card beast and in order to get the performance they showed us in the demo, you need a very very fast machine and really good graphics card. Color will choke on a slow graphics card.

April 16, 2007 at 12:59 pmThanks Walter, I really appreciate the reply. Well it looks like i may have to invest in a new machine, which is a shame, because it means new kona card and all the other bits.
Never Mind, It will definatly be worth it… So excited about Apple Color.
Thanks, Nick

As much as they disappointed me, I’m also happy to see Color is rolled into Studio.

April 16, 2007 at 1:10 pmFinal Touch ran fine on a dual 2.7 G5 with aX800 XT card and 4 gigs of RAM. I would guess that it will run OK on your machine if you upgrade your video card to the ATI X1900. But, that is just a guess at this point in time.

April 16, 2007 at 1:20 pmWalter, I offered 3 separate people over the last month $2000 dollars for their Dongles…. I am obviously pleased that i was turned down in retrospect but also really feel for the people who spent all that money. Looks like it will be a better product now anyway, and hasn’t lost any of its spectacular features.
Damn, I didn’t even know you could get an x1900 for the g5… didn’t realise they did an AGP version. I may try and track one down, although with ATI stopping manufacture a while ago, it doesn’t look like there will be stock for a while.
Thanks
