For the premiere pro 7 capture, for DV video does it capture at uncompressed? Because from the files, it captured at 1536 kbps, or can you change it to capture at a higher quality?

Also, just wondering, is there any level of bitrate which that going above will not make much of a quality difference?

DV is DV. DV is 25 Mbits/sec. plus audio.

The only way to capture it uncompressed would be to bring it in via an analog or an SDI connection on a capture card.

Ya, for DV, it captures it as around 4 Mbits/sec not 25 Mbits/sec, capturing through firewire

unless u’re saying to capture as 25Mbit/sec, you need SDI connection?

With audio, it’s probably close to 4 Megabytes/sec…the video is 25 Megabits per second.
