APP2 Upgrade Ideal System
Can anyone give me some advice on how to migrate to HDV (Sony) for post production? I now use a Dell XPS system running 3.4 gig single processor. 4 gig ram, 500 gig drives. I’m editing SD with APP 1.5 want to move to APP 2.0. I use AAE and do a lot of layering. Do I have to change motherboards go dual processor. What third party cards will give me the most flexibility and THE MOST RELIABILITY?? Any ideas on a strategy to attack this project?

CineForm Aspect HD would enable you to run on the system you have with HDV.

One major issue Tim failed to mention is that Adobe admits to a problem using HDV in After Effects. https://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/332583.html
Cineform Aspect HD 4.0 solves that problem. It supports After Effects as well as Premiere Pro.
Disclosure: I am a HUGE Cineform Aspect HD fan.
