app. to extract images (OT)
Hi all,
Maybe some of you know a way to achieve this:
I’ve got a quicktime movie of an hour long, that’s just a slideshow without transitions, it’s ripped from a dvd.
I’m looking for an os X app that scans through the movie and detects ‘scene changes’ in this case: the next photograph,
then exports that as a still. (possibly even reducing noise by averaging a few frames together).I know how to do stuff like that by hand in QT pro or After effects obviously, but there must be an easier way, right ?

Some editing programs offer scene detection, but I think it’s limited to taped footage in most cases since it works based on timecode and other meta data. Can’t you just speed up you movie fast as hell using time stretch and then have AE export still frames? With a high enough setting there’s a good chance to get each slide to only apper just exactly one or two frames. You could always sort out the few redundant image files later…
