  • APP CS 6 will only render out 24 bytes

    Hi all,

An issue I’ve recently come across while exporting H.264 video is that APP will only render out 24 bytes. Render time is normal (about an hour for ~700 mb), and I have watched the rendered file grow in size throughout the render process. As soon as the render finishes, it compiles the audio and video together to create a single 24 byte file, NOT a ~700 mb file. I have also been having issues with importing/editing CS5.5 projects, giving me an error that I’m missing plug ins or presets (this has been reported in a few other threads, but none of the solutions have worked for me). I believe that these two issues are connected to each other, but I have no idea as to why this has suddenly started to happen. I have reinstalled CS6 to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.

Additional: I did manage to get a render to 400 mb (out of ~700 mb), but only half of the video was rendered. The video in question is approximately two minutes long. I am rendering 1280p video, and if rendered in small portions (<30 seconds) there doesn’t seem to be any issues with the final output coming out to be 24 bytes.

Did you ever get this figured out? I am having this exact same problem and can’t seem to resolve it. It is only when I export large files. When I do short 1 min clips, the export is perfect, but when I do large multi-Gig exports, it fails. It’s like the info gets trashed all at once at the end. Please help!

    Hey Ryan,

I was never able to find a solution to this issue. I was lucky enough to have a backup laptop that I ended up having to transfer all of my files over and rendering from there. I believe I also had to do a clean re-install of APP before the problem was resolved (if memory serves correct)
