    Hi, project file attached. AO is causing weird triangular artifacts in my render. It’s a converted CAD file so the mesh is weird, is that the problem? How can I fix it? I don’t even know how to spot bad topology so any resources or advice would be very helpful. Thanks!

    I think the problem is caused by the Normals tag on the strap object. The tag essentially bakes in the polygon normal direction, but you’re deforming the object so the normals are wrong. Try deleting the tag and set the angle in the Phong tag to around 20.

    Nice! That did the trick, I also eliminated some rogue vertices that I think were also confusing things
