i just want to assign material to an atom array keeping its parametric properties.

You can do it by putting the atom array in a fracture object (set to “explode segments”) and then using the mograph color shader or multishader.

Or you could basically use mograph to build an atom array by cloning on points and along edges.

    Example: 3990_multisubobject.c4d.zip

you are my new hero! thanks a ton. (and i indeed appreciate you taking time to create the example file.)

that mograph way is awesome..not only i got a solution for this but also it gave me tremendous insight of what are the possiblities.
i think i am loving c4d more every minute.

    thanks
