anyone? help please.
When bringing AVC-Intra (P2) footage into Avid, what is the difference (if any) between bringing the media in HD-SDI vs. importing P2 files?
I know this is on odd question, but an Avid editor I know seems to think it’s true (that there is some difference or advantage). It doesn’t sound quite right to me.
I know the basic way would be to import the footage from file> import P2 footage and then convert to Dnx. Would there be any advantages when importing the media via HD-SDI via a P2 deck such as the Panasonic AJ-HPM110. (link below). I guess one advantage might be that you could convert to Dnx AS the footage was being ingested… right? What about timecode from the Avid? would there be any timecode advantage?
