  anyone with a QUAD having firewire issues? Any Tascam mixer users?

  The new quad has quite a bit more realtime than my 2.7 did, (which I’m pretty happy about)
  but it seems to be very sensitive to firewire grounding issues.

  Anyone having issues with firewire devices, like the Tascam FW-1884 (used as a control surface) not showing up when a DV deck is online?

  Turns out I had to use a cheater plug and float the ground for the Tascam unit in order for it to be seen when the deck was connected. Turning

  The system profiler- firewire devices would also lock up with everything on.

  I thought I had it solved, but after a restart, no devices (including a G raid) would show up until I turned off the deck and Tascam, and turned them back on.

  I currently have no Kona2 or IO in the system- just a basic Quad. Also it doesnt matter if I’m using a FW hub or straight into the machine.

  Anyone else?
