    Howdy all,

We’re demoing the Sharp Aquos 45″ display hooked up to the HDLink in our edit bay. The picture is AMAZING in terms of resolution with minimal lag and seems to have much better detail in the blacks than the Sony 234B we’re currently using (also, the size alone kicks a**). According to the manual, the display has a whole host of picture controls to set it up properly.

But that’s the problem…how do you set it up?

The unit has an external break out box, which handles all the IO, but you have to trick the display to see the HDLink. First, you power up with the DVI connector from the break out box connected. Then, you pull the Sharp’s DVI connector and connect the HDLink’s DVI connector.

Everything works great, but now you can’t see the setup menu to align the display.

Has anyone figured out a work around on this issue.

    Thanx,
    Thom

We all owe our jobs to Philo T. Farnsworth .

Update to the boss man’s thread: we purchased a 2×1 DVI switch from Gefen where we plug the output of the BOB for the display into 1 side and the output of the HDLink to the 2 side and are able to switch back and forth with the output of the switch going into the display. This thing looks great! Little bit of a work-around, but it’s running smooth now.
