I’m going to throw out a guess here and surmise that if your camera accepts 32GB cards, it accepts 64’s. That should mean ALL versions of EX3 and EX1R, and sufficiently updated EX1s.

    Again, that’s a guess.

This link indicates that you may need to get a software update to make the 64GB card work.

Has anyone had any experience using the 64GB card?

Yes, I didn’t realize that the 64GB card is only an SxS-1 at this point (I assumed it was a Pro card). That would be the factor in requiring an upgrade.

I’m nervous enough using 32. I’m still old school, since I don’t use a recorder on my camera as well as the media cards, I prefer using a smaller card in case of failure.

Hopefully that’ll mean Sony will drop their pricing on the 32….wishful thinking.

Ive got a 64gb card its a class 10 by Transcend and it doesn’t work. I am with tech support now. Funny thing is I have a few transcends that work fine and are class 6 or 8. 🙁

In order for your post to have any meaning you should include camera and its firmware version as well as adaptor used and who’s tech support you’re talking to. Sony isn’t likely to help you if it’s not an SxS card.

Please have the curtesy to include useful information. If you had, someone might have helped you identify whether you need a firmware upgrade. Also “doesn’t work” is close to meaningless. Something happens when you either attempt to format the card or otherwise attempt to use it and you don’t include that information. If you really want help, include details. If you want to inform others, include details.

I’m using a Sony 64gb SxS-1 on my EX3 with firmware upgraded to ver 1.15. Just got the card last week, formatted it and have recorded a and transferred about 120 of the 220 min capacity so far without any problems. I was lucky enough to get it before this week’s 50% price increase.
