    Anders,

Hey, it’s free! There are plenty of “facility/project management” programs out there. Check out “The Farmer’s Wife”, or just do a google search for “facility or project management”. Unfortunately, all these programs are very complex, complete packages tieing into accounting modules etc. Tremendous overkill for what you’re trying to do. So…. you’re back to iCal. I think it’s a good solution for what you’re doing.

I’ve used Exel to creat “room grids” and essentially do the same thing, but we don’t track by the hour or day… only by the week. So you probably won’t get the level of detail you want. The fact that you can publish the iCal info so easily is a HUGE plus. In your situation, access is everything.

We use an extensive database for library, contact management, estimating, scheduling, time reporting, and invoicing. And it’s free- because we made it ourselves w/ PHP & MySQL. I’ve considered distributing it as a package but I think that would violate something I must have signed years ago. If this were an HTML forum I’d post screenies.

Not having a .mac account, we’ve started publishing iCal files using PHP iCalendar so others can look at schedules right on a page on our website. It’s free and seems very flexible. Here’s a link:
