    Hi

I would be interested on hearing about anyone’s experience with the new 2nd generation iCore CPU’s from Intel with integrated processor graphics, specifically in relation to the Vegas preview. Does it make a difference and reduce the jitters? The CPU’s I am interested in are the i5-2500 series (as my second editing workstation).

I know Nvidia cards improve render times using CUDA technology, and am wondering if the marriage of an Nvidia video card and the latest iCore CPU offering from Intel will finally address the Vegas preview issue.

yes, I am, and yes…it’s fast (scary fast compared to other systems I’ve used). Preview of 18Mbps AVCHD and .mxf files is butter smooth.
I do not have the NVidia card, however.

I have not had any issues with MXF files and HDV for single track editing, but using Vasst Ultimate S 4.1 with Quadcam enabled and using the same files really drops the preview rate down, even on my grunty i7 system. I typically have to preview/edit in Draft most of the time.

Anything that will boost the preview will help!
