Is anyone on this board using Hitfilm with Sony Vegas?

Is it a plugin for SV, or a completely separate application?

Also, is it basically a scaled-down After Effects?

What are your experiences–if any–with the product?

    Thanks.

I used it before the SVP 12 collaboration. It is a really powerful program. Unfortunately, since I do video editing as a side business, i don’t use it enough to harness all of its capabilities. There are a number of video tutorials available on YouTube which are helpful.

I have never used AE, but based on what I have learned from others who have usd both, it can provide “some” of the FXs that AE provides for less cost–but it does not replace AE.

As George said, its good, but cannot be used as a replacement
    for After Effects.
For serious motion graphics work, there are no alternative for
After Effects or Nuke etc….But as an editor who occasionally
dabs into a little bit of motion graphics and compositing, Hitfilms
is good enough to get the job done and at a fraction of the cost of
    the big guys.
